Social Media Coordinator

Description

Reporting to the Office Manager, the Social Media Coordinator helps nurture and grow the brand in online, and social channels including Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn. The incumbent is responsible for posting real-time social coverage of trending topics, conceptualizing and executing social campaigns to drive social traffic and conversion. The Social Media Coordinator is responsible for the communications plan, activities and promotion of all programs and services of the Vlaad and Company Team.

This is a part time contract working approximately 10 hours a week onsite/offsite, located in downtown Toronto. Starting as soon as possible.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute social media strategy for the company.
  • Support campaigns by creating best-in-class content on social channels that aligns with the company/campaign’s marketing strategy and key messages and measuring campaign reception
  • Developing graphic design for all social media platforms.
  • As a subject matter expert, you must maintain a deep knowledge of social media trends, platforms, tools, best practices, etc.
  • Support governance of social media including best practices
  • Develop communications plans that supports awareness about the organization and our programs and services; provide outreach to key stakeholders, media and the public.
  • Design and produce communications and promotional materials, including but not limited to, brochures, newsletters, articles, social media.
  • Develop materials such as social media content, presentations, videos, speeches and webinars
  • Ensure brand standards are applied throughout the social media content
  • Recommends communications strategies and policies to raise awareness of organization, including researching ways to expand outreach to new target populations and stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in marketing, communications, journalism, PR or a related field with relevant experience
  • At least 1-3 years of experience in strategy development and project management in a social media, digital marketing, and/or community management capacity
  • Passion for digital and a deep knowledge of the nuances of each social networks and other emerging communities and tools
  • Familiar with social media management platforms such as Hootsuite and monitoring tools
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Facebook Insights Manager, Twitter Ads and Google Analytics Deep understanding of the different approaches to social media measurement and tools
  • Excellent written and verbal skills with a specialization in online media
  • Excellent presentation skills
