Kevin Cowan, former President of TMX Markets and TSX Venture Exchange was named first Chief Regulator of the CMRA.

Mike Dobbins will take over as the Head of Corporate Strategy and Development role at RBC from the retiring Jamie Anderson. Mike is currently responsible for U.S. Retail Banking.

Joe Pavao is the new President and COO and Jason Mackey is the new CFO at both Hampton Securities and Hampton Financial. Joe was most recently President of Solium Financial while Jason was CFO of Jovian Capital and its investment dealer subsidiary MGI Securities.

David Ross now leads Northleaf Capital Partners’ Global Private Credit Team out of London. David was previously with Sankaty Advisors (now Bain Capital Credit) as a Managing Director, Global Head of Sourcing.

Michael Bowman has also joined Northleaf Capital Partners as Vice President, Private Equity. Michael was a Vice President, Strategy and Corporate Development at Brookfield Global Integrated Solutions.

PI Financial has expanded their Toronto Investment Banking team by hiring Grant Hughes as Managing Director, Head of Diversified. Previously, Grant held a similar role with Dundee Capital Markets.

Also leaving Dundee is Brian Kristjansen, who joins Macquarie Capital Markets in its Calgary research department as an Oil and Gas Analyst.

Andrew Melnychuk, former Senior Vice President, CCO at Macquarie Capital Markets is now Director, Compliance at 1832 Asset Management.

Regimen Equity Partners has expanded to Toronto with the addition of Hai Tran-Viet as the Vice President of Private Equity, and David Koa as Vice President of Strategic Development. Previously, Hai was a Partner at Signal Hill Equity Partners, and David was the President of Baker Shoe Company (a Lynx Equities portfolio company).

Hiring former CIBC World Markets' Investment Banker Don Fox, is Intact Financial. Don comes in as Executive Vice President, and will oversee Investment Management, Corporate Legal and Development teams, while also dealing in audit and finance.

Waratah Capital hires Faisal Ratansi from Balyasny Asset Management in New York where he worked as an Analyst.

Also joining Waratah is Peter Vanderploeg, as Vice President, Risk Management. Most recently, Peter led the Risk Management team at Polar Asset Management.

Joining Haywood Securities in Calgary as Managing Director, Investment Banking, is Victor Rodberg, who will be the Head of energy banking. Victor was previously an Investment Banking Director at Cormark Securities.

Brad Cameron has been hired by Canaccord Genuity's Investment Banking team as a Senior Advisor. Brad previously held a similar role at Credit Suisse.

Laurentian Securities hires the following:
- Equity Trader, Tristan Mackay from Reorient Group in Hong Kong; and
- Alex Jemetz joins as Managing Director, Preferred shares. Alex worked in Preferred Share Trading and Sales at RBC Capital Markets.

Tony Cancellara joins CIBC Capital Markets as Executive Director, Supervision and Governance. Tony moves from OTPP as Senior Trade Desk Compliance Analyst.

Moving from Investment Banking at Clarus Securities to Corporate Finance at Red Cloud Klondike Strike, is Vice President, Mark Styles.

Pacific Road Capital in Vancouver, hires Mal Karwowska as a Senior Analyst. Prior to Pacific Road, Mal was a Business Development Director at Oxygen Capital.

In Calgary, Riley Hicks joins Veresen as a Senior Analyst, Corporate Planning and Investor Relations. Previously, Riley was a Research Associate, Oil and Gas at Scotiabank Global Banking and Markets.

Also making a transition in Calgary is Roman Volikov who joins Cormark Securities as an Investment Banking Associate. Previously, Roman was part of the Business Development team at Saguaro Resources.

Chris Feltin joins Seven Generations Energy in Calgary, as Vice President, Corporate Planning. Most recently, Chris was a Managing Director, Institutional Research at Macquarie.

Joining Burgundy Asset Management is Ching Chang as an Investment Analyst, Emerging Markets, from OTPP as an Investment Associate, Public Equities.
