Networking Effectively

I've received some requests for additional insight regarding how to network effectively. So here I am, happy to share a few thoughts.

  • To begin, networking must be genuine. If you're passionate about what you do, networking will come easily and naturally
  • Secondly, networking must also be consistent. Networks are active entities that are always evolving. They require constant attention which means regular contact with your network. That's worth repeating: be in touch on a regular basis
  • Lastly, these networks must start small and grow in due time. No one can expect to drop into a network of 250 people through email, website or blog and achieve success. If you're looking for a network to be effective for you tomorrow, you'll be disappointed. You must start small, genuine and close to the heart. From there, build your way out and watch your network expand into a solid web of incredible connections
