Description

Reporting to the CEO, the VP of Finance & Operations is a key contributor and business partner to the business leadership our client's firm. The VP, Finance & Operations will play a critical role in internal controls over financial reporting (“ICFR”), financial reporting, budgeting, accounting for loans and investments, reporting KPIs, and be an integral part of the team on future financings and regulatory matters.

Additionally, the role will assume oversight over all operational matters for a growing business, including the adoption and integration of any required systems, implementing and overseeing human resource based systems, and liaising with the Board of Directors on all corporate matters.

Job Duties

Financial Reporting and ICFR

  • Prepare and present monthly and quarterly financial results including monthly profit and loss by entity, performance to budget, cash management, inventory, and other relevant key performance indicators
  • Monitor and account for all loans and investments
  • Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS
  • Implement new accounting software
  • Review and ensure application of appropriate internal controls and financial procedures, ensuring compliance with IFRS and applicable regulatory rules and laws
  • Ensure timeliness and accuracy of financial and management reporting data for lenders, investors, and the Board of Directors
  • Design, implement, and monitor processes and internal controls, ensuring ICFR-compliance

Strategy, Planning, and Management

  • Support IPO
  • Perform investment analysis and decisions
  • Assist in development of short and medium-term business plans considering the regulatory, economic, and political environment
  • Build and mentor supporting finance team as the Company grows
  • Build and support the operational leadership of the Company
  • Establish yearly financial objectives that align with the Company’s plan for growth, expansion, and profit
  • Participate in pivotal decisions as they relate to strategic initiatives and operational models
  • Liaise with counsel on all corporate matters and liaise with the Board of Directors on such
  • Establish and maintain outstanding banking relationships and strategic alliances with vendors and business partners
  • Manage cash flow planning process and ensure funds availability and best use of cash balances
  • Utilize forward-looking models and activity-based analyses to provide financial insight into the organization’s plans and operating budgets

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics or related discipline required
  • CPA designation required
  • At least ten years of experience in a relevant accounting or financial position
  • Experience with publicly traded companies and ICFR
  • Experience with IPO’s
  • Experience with analyzing financial instruments, including IFRS 9
  • Ability to be concise with complex information and focus on what is important to the Board of Directors and C-suite
  • Strong financial management skills and excellent planning, budgeting, and analytical capabilities
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral
  • Experience in organization change management
