The Canada Infrastructure Bank uses federal support to attract private sector and institutional investment to new revenue-generating infrastructure projects that are in the public interest. By engaging the expertise and capital of the private sector, we will help provide more infrastructure across Canada.

Job Description:
The Analyst/Associate will be an active member of the CIB team and have involvement in all aspects of screening, due diligence, and execution of investment opportunities. Daily responsibilities will vary with time and will include screening potential investment opportunities, performing complex financial modeling, completing sector analysis and transaction due diligence, drafting of investment memoranda, and participating in investment decision-making processes.
The ideal candidate will have an undergraduate or a post graduate degree with excellent academic standing, coupled with 1-5 years of relevant deal execution experience in principal investing, corporate finance, transaction advisory, investment banking or related financial sector work.

Accountabilities:
  • Building financial models, project finance / infrastructure models, valuation analyses, merger models, corporate finance solutions and any additional needed financial analyses
  • Undertaking due diligence on investment opportunities
  • Assisting with project development (coordinate data with clients, assist in presentation of new ideas to clients) and origination of transactions
  • Preparation and presentation of investment analysis and investment memos
  • Collecting and analyzing industry research and trends
  • Tracking project development
  • Preparation of proposals and pitchbooks
  • Monitor periodic financial and operating results and explain investment plan variances.
  • Perform regular analyses of the state of the market for each investment to forecast future trends.
  • Apply best practices in financial governance and managing business services

Skills / Experience:
  • 1-5 years of project finance, investment banking, private equity, transaction advisory, or strategy consulting
  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, or equivalent
  • CFA considered an asset
  • Professional accounting designation considered an asset
  • Bilingual (French) considered an asset
  • Ability to build complex financial models and perform quantitative analysis
  • Ideally some industry experience coupled with some financial, tax, and legal understanding of infrastructure
  • Team player
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and priority management skills
  • Sense of initiative, entrepreneurial
