Hedge Fund, Inside Sales

Description

Our client, an established, Toronto-based hedge fund is seeking a junior inside salesperson to work closely with the firm’s CEO/CIO to build assets, brand awareness and to manage relationships with existing clients and advisors. The salesperson will be based in downtown Toronto and will have the opportunity to drive increased investment in the firm’s long/short funds through expansion of market share with existing clients and the development of new business through prospecting.

While there will be clear opportunities to expand responsibilities over time, initially, the primary activity will be over the telephone and, as appropriate, meeting clients one-on-one at the firm’s office. The ideal candidate is collaborative, passionate about the investment industry, energetic, motivated and highly professional. Prior hedge fund experience is an asset.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the CEO/CIO to increase sales and market share by conducting proactive sales calls with new and existing clients and the advisor channel.
  • Share information with prospects, clients and advisors about the firms funds and services.
  • Assist in the coordination of client meetings, roadshows and events and the preparation presentations and occasional website updates, as required.

Ideal Profile:

  • Two years of sales experience within fund/wealth management; Hedge fund preferred
  • Knowledge of current trends in the investment industry
  • Energetic self-starter with a positive attitude
  • Entrepreneurial and proactive
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including in formal presentation settings
  • Ability to “talk markets”, build trust and put others at ease
  • Ability to create and maintain client relationships
  • Ability to work effectively independently as well as within a close team environment
  • Excellent time management skills and a sense of urgency
  • Superior attention to detail, organizational skills and a sense of curiosity
  • Advanced computer skills (Excel, Power Point, Word, etc.)
  • Bachelor’s degree and Canadian Securities Course required; MBA or CFA is an asset
  • Fully bilingual in French and English an asset
